In a tragic incident, an 80-year-old man killed his 76-year-old ailing wife and died by suicide in Maharshtra’s Nashik. Both the deceased have been identified as Muralidhar Ramchandra Joshi and Lata.
In suicide note, man says he was ‘releasing’ his ailing wife
According to PTI, Muralidhar Ramchandra Joshi left a suicide note, and he mentioned that he was “releasing” his ailing wife and himself. Joshi was a retired school principal, while his wife was a government school teacher.
A senior officer of Upnagar police station said the couple had been living with a caretaker, Seema Rathod, for the last four years.
Couple found dead by caretaker
The police said Seema left the home after doing household chores in the morning. When she returned in the evening at 7, she found them dead. Joshi strangled his wife and hanged himself.
Couple left money for caretaker
Joshi mentioned in the note that he loves his wife, and he is frustrated with her illness. He wrote that he is releasing her from her illness and himself too. The couple also left money, stating that no one should pay for their last rites. They hailed Seema for her work and left Rs 50,000 while instructing that the money should be paid to her.
CRPF Personnel died in Patna
On April 9, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel died in Bihar’s Patna, police said, adding that it seems like a “suicide”. The deceased sustained a bullet injury to his head.
Giving details about the incident, Patna, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anu Kumari told reporters, “The deceased, Ashutosh Kumar Mishra, was in the CRPF. Prima facie, he has sustained a bullet injury on his head. The body has been sent for postmortem.
“Further investigation is going on… It seems like a suicide but we can confirm only after a postmortem report,” Kumari added.
