In a significant breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with the Army, has successfully dismantled a narco-terror network in Karnah, Kupwara. Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint operation was conducted, resulting in the arrest of two individuals attempting to sell heroin.
The apprehended suspects have been identified as Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Late Mohd Shafi Sheikh, and Tariq Ahmad Malik, son of Gh. Ahmad Malik. The operation also led to the discovery of three pistols in possession of Parvez Ahmed Pathan, a resident of Sadhpura.
Following the swift action by the security forces, a joint raid was conducted, resulting in the seizure of three pistols, 76 rounds of ammunition, six pistol magazines, and approximately 5kg of suspected explosives from Parvez’s possession.
The Kupwara Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the case and has assured that the investigation is ongoing. The authorities are committed to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism in the region.

The total arrests made in this operation stand at three individuals, with a substantial recovery of 500g of heroin, 5kg of explosives, three pistols, 76 rounds of ammunition, and six pistol magazines. The successful operation underscores the unwavering dedication of the security forces in combating illicit activities and maintaining peace and security in the region.
