About Narayani Ganga Expressway

The 225 km upcoming expressway has been named ‘Narayani Ganga‘. This national highway will connect North Bihar to South Bihar directly. Its proposed route will be built from Bagaha to Bhojpur. A budget of around Rs 4,000 has been allocated for the construction of this 22 km, six-lane route.

The planned investment for land acquisition extending across the established route of the Narayani-Ganga Expressway amounts to Rs 3950 crore. The practice of using circle rates will serve as compensation to land owners, farmers, and cultivators for their acquired properties, thus improving their financial stability. Local farmers will receive Rs 11500 crore to construct the project through specified targets. The entire development project of land acquisition and construction will require an investment of Rs 15450 crore. The 5 district sections of this route cover several hundred settlements that will undergo future land acquisitions. All affected villages included in this project remain unidentified despite the lack of available information about the direct beneficiary communities.

Once this route gets open to the public, it will boost connectivity in the region and make the journey smoother for the commuters. Given the need to advance Narayani-Ganga Expressway development, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways needs to create its feasibility report to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for proper progression. The proposed road is intended to be developed as a Greenfield High-Speed Corridor, stretching from Bagaha in West Champaran (NH-772A) to Patar in Bhojpur district (NH-119A).
