The Narasapur–Chennai Vande Bharat is all set to start on December 15. Indian Railways is set to give a big gift to passengers as commercial operations kick off on the route. The commercial run from Chennai to Narasapur will begin on December 17.
The new train will reduce travel time and provide a major boost to connectivity on the route.
The Southern Railway said in a statement, “Train No. 20677 Dr MGR Chennai Central–Vijayawada Vande Bharat Express (six days a week, except Tuesdays) will be extended to Narasapur with effect from December 17, 2025. Train No. 20678 Vijayawada–Dr MGR Chennai Central Vande Bharat Express (six days a week, except Tuesdays) will be inaugurated and extended to run from Narasapur with effect from December 15, 2025.”
Narasapur–Chennai Vande Bharat: Travel Time
The Narasapur–Chennai Vande Bharat’s running time will be 8 hours and 55 minutes, and it will cover a distance of 655 kilometres. The train’s route has been extended up to Narasapur, as it was earlier running between Dr MGR Chennai Central and Vijayawada.
Stoppages of the Narasapur–Chennai Vande Bharat
The Vande Bharat Express will stop at seven stations. These stoppages are Renigunta Junction, Nellore, Ongole, Tenali Junction, Vijayawada Junction, Gudivada Junction, and Bhimavaram.
Timetable of Narasapur–Chennai Vande Bharat
The Dr MGR Chennai Central–Narasapur Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20677) will depart from Chennai station at 05:30 hrs and reach Narasapur at 14:10 hrs. Meanwhile, Train No. 20678 Narasapur–Dr MGR Chennai Central Vande Bharat Express will depart Narasapur at 14:50 hrs and arrive at Chennai station at 23:45 hrs.
Ticket Fare
Passengers will have to pay Rs 1,635 for a seat in the AC Chair Car for the journey between Narasapur and Chennai, while the fare for the Executive Chair Car is Rs 3,030.
