The Government of India operates various schemes to assist its citizens, primarily aimed at supporting disadvantaged populations across the nation. Several initiatives are designed to promote women’s empowerment. To support this effort, the government runs multiple schemes that enhance women’s participation and improve their quality of life.
In 2023, the government launched the Namo Drone Didi Yojana to benefit women in agriculture. As part of this program, women receive training in drone technology and are encouraged to adopt technological tools for agricultural applications.
Under the Namo Drone Didi Yojana, the Government of India provides drone operation training to 15,000 women associated with self-help groups. This 15-day training program enables women to operate drones for agricultural tasks, including crop monitoring. The scheme is implemented nationwide through Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
The benefits of the Mahila Drone Didi Yojana are exclusively available to women who are members of self-help groups. The government has allocated a budget of Rs 1,261 crore for this initiative.

Who Can Apply For This?
Women between the ages of 18 and 45 can apply for the Namo Drone Didi Yojana. However, the Government of India has not yet created a dedicated website or portal for applications. At present, individuals must first join a women’s self-help group before submitting an offline application for the scheme.
