Nagaur: A disturbing incident occurred in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district, where a woman was allegedly beaten and dragged through her village by her alcoholic husband, identified as 32-year-old Premaram Meghwal. The horrifying act was captured on video, which later went viral on social media, prompting a police investigation and the subsequent arrest of Meghwal.

The video shows the woman, with her legs tied to a motorcycle, being dragged across rocky ground by her husband while she screams for help. Despite her cries, no one, including the person recording the incident, intervened to stop the assault.
Background of the Incident
According to Nagaur’s Superintendent of Police, Narayan Singh Togas, the incident occurred after the woman insisted on visiting her sister in Jaisalmer, despite her husband’s objections. When she persisted in her decision, Meghwal resorted to the violent act, which was later shared widely online.

Police Response and Arrest
The incident took place nearly a month ago in Naharsinghpura village, according to Panchaudi police station assistant sub-inspector Surendra Kumar. The woman, now staying with her relatives, did not initially report the incident to the authorities. However, after the video surfaced, Meghwal was arrested on charges of causing a public disturbance.

Sources reveal that Meghwal is an alcoholic who frequently assaulted his wife and isolated her from the rest of the village. The police are currently investigating the case to uncover further details and take appropriate legal action.
