Nagaland Election Result 2023 Live Updates: The results of the Nagaland assembly elections will be announced today. The counting of votes has started in 59 assembly seats from 8 am. Voting was held in Nagaland on Monday (February 27). The ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) contested the elections in alliance with the BJP, while the opposition Congress contested 23 seats and the Naga People’s Front 22.

Union minister Ramdas Athawale’s Republican Party of India (Athawale) has won two seats. NDPP has won 1 seat, leading in 25 seats. BJP has won two seats and is leading in 12 seats. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is leading on 3 seats.

Nagaland Deputy CM Yanthungo Patton said that our alliance NDPP and BJP is far ahead. We are going to get a thumping majority to form the government under the leadership of our CM Neiphiu Rio. This time we are expecting an increase in seats as compared to the previous election results.

The NDPP-BJP alliance in Nagaland seems to be heading towards a one-sided victory. In 26 out of 60 seats, the ruling coalition seems to be heading towards victory.

 

The counting of votes in Nagaland is going on since 8 am. A crowd of supporters of the candidates was seen outside the counting center set up at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in capital Kohima.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is contesting for the second consecutive term. He has expressed confidence that the NDPP-BJP alliance will return to power with a huge mandate.

Security arrangements strengthened for counting of votes

Heavy security arrangements have been made at the counting centers for counting of votes. The counting process will begin at 8 am amid tight security. Whose government will be formed in Nagaland after noon, this situation will be clear. In the exit poll, BJP + NDPP is likely to get 38 to 48 seats in the state.

According to exit polls, the Congress may win one to two seats, while the NPF may win three to eight seats. At the same time, NCP, LJP, RPI (A) and NPP are likely to get five to 15 seats.
