Mysuru, Karnataka: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old temporary worker at JK Tyres in Mysuru, tragically ended his life by jumping into Cauvery river. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday near Mahadevpura village in Madhya’s Srirangapatna Taluk. The deceased, identified as Mahesh, a resident of Gagenahalli in Bilikere hobli, took the extreme step after being terminated from his job without prior notice.
Police Suspect Mahesh Was Deeply Distressed
According to reports, Mahesh was employed with the company from the past 16 years but was terminated without any explanation or notice. Police suspect that he was deeply distressed by his termination and so took the step. Following the incident, a case was filed at Arakere Police Station and his body was taken to a mortuary in Mysuru’s KR Hospital for post mortem.
Family And Supporters Stage Protest
Reports stated that the factory management landed in trouble after they reportedly failed to reach out to Mahesh’s family members and visit the mortuary. The bereaved family and their supporters next staged a protest outside the Hospital’s mortuary. They refused to claim the body and demanded accountability until a representative from the factory arrived. While speaking to the media, Chandrahass, Madhu, and advocate Karthik, condemned the company’s actions and demanded justice for Mahesh. He is survived by his wife and a child.
