New Delhi: Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Kiren Kumar Reddy who quit Congress a few weeks ago, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.

During a press brief at BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Reddy said that he never imagined of leaving the grand-old party, holding the party leadership’s “wrong decision” to make him take the step of seperation.

Reddy alleged that Congress is being damaged in state after state due to its “bad and wrong decisions” as it does not interact with people and take opinions of leader.

Taking a jibe at the Congress leadership, Reddy said, “I had never imagined that I’ll have to leave Congress…There is a saying- ‘My king is very intelligent, he doesn’t think on his own, doesn’t listen to anyone’s advice.’ He said the Congress want power but does not want to work hard or take responsibility.

Reddy said you cannot go to a barber to get a dress stiched just because he uses scissors, you will have to go to a tailor. With that, he accused Congress of not knowing charcters of its leader due to the “lack of interaction.” Due to which, they do not know which leaders should be assigned to do a particular job.

Reddy has been Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He was the last CM of Andhra before Telagana seprated to make a whole new state. Reddy has been the four-time MLA. His association with the grand-old party was for over 60 years.

BJP Welcomes Kiren Kumar Reddy

“Many members of Kiran Kumar Reddy’s family were in Congress. When I met him some time ago, he told me that he was influenced by PM Modi. Today he is taking a big leap and joining the BJP. He will strengthen our fight against corruption because his image as an MLA and minister has been very clean. It will be a big boost for BJP in Andhra Pradesh,” said Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.
