A Muslim man was brutally thrashed over charges of ‘Love-jihad’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal. The incident took place inside the court premises. The man had gone to marry a woman from the Hindu community to which Right wing Hindu outfits were opposing. Activists of ‘Sanskriti Bachao Manch’ reached inside the court and thrashed him. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The police have taken the man and woman in custody and initiated a probe into the matter.
The video shows the activists brutally thrashing him, and he fell on the floor. The police took him for medical treatment after the incident. The ‘Sanskriti Bachao Manch’ and other Hindu outfits complained to the MP Nagar police station. They alleged that it is a matter of “Love-jihad”.
According to information, the man is a native of Narsinghpur, and he came to Bhopal for court marriage. The woman had also come along with him. The activists alleged that he deliberately trapped the girl in an affair.
The activists said that they lost control and thrashed the man. He said there has been a rise in such incidents in the state. After receiving complaints from the outfits, the police have registered a case of “rape and love-jihad” against the man.
