Meerut murder case accused Muskan Rastogi, who is lodged in jail for killing her husband, has been found pregnant. An official stated on Monday that she was found to be pregnant during a routine medical check-up. She, along with her lover Sahil Shukla is accused of killing her husband. They both have been in jail for over three weeks now. According to Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma, regular health check-ups and pregnancy tests are conducted for all female inmates upon admission.
It was during these tests, Muskan was found to be pregnant. He added that while he has not yet received the doctors’ written report but has been verbally informed that she is pregnant. Meanwhile, Chief medical officer Dr Ashok Kataria confirmed that Muskan underwent an initial medical examination, which indicated that she is pregnant. He mentioned that the next step would to be conduct an ultrasound, which will further help determine the condition and duration of the pregnancy.

The Meerut murder case dates back to March 4, 2025, when a Merchant Navy officer, Saurabh Rajput was killed at his house in Indiranagar in Meerut district. His wife, Muskan, and her lover, Sahil were accused of stabbing him to death.
Earlier, the duo accepted to dismembering the body. They also revealed why besides killing, they mutilated Saurabh’s body. During the police, interrogation they stated why it was necessary for them to cut off his body into pieces.
What Did They Reveal?
Muskan and Sahil decided to dismember Saurabh’s body to save themselves from the police and fear of getting caught. They severed his wrists to prevent the police from identifying him through his fingerprints, India TV reported. The duo didn’t stop here, and further slit his throat and beheaded him. They did so as they thought a headless body would make it difficult to trace the identity of the victim.
The forensic team found bloodstains on pillows, bathroom tiles and bedsheets, indicating a horrific crime scene. A suitcase was also recovered from the crime scene, which Muskan and Sahil had planned to use to dispose of his body first. But they changed their plan after his body did not fit inside. The process of stuffing him, left blood stains on the suitcase as well.
