Murder Accused Shot Dead By Neighbour Over CCTV Camera Installation In…

A senior police official said that the murder accused, Satnam Singh who had been booked in half a dozen criminal cases, was shot dead by his neighbour Gurtej who is on the run.

The Punjab Police on Wednesday said that a murder accused was shot dead in Bhatinda following an argument with a neighbour. The incident took place at Bhai Rupa village in the district. The police said an argument broke out between the murder accused and the neighbour over the installation of CCTV cameras.

A senior police official said that the murder accused, Satnam Singh who had been booked in half a dozen criminal cases, was shot dead by his neighbour Gurtej who is on the run. 

The senior police officer said that Satnam Singh and Gurtej argued over the installation of CCTV cameras. Satnam Singh had objected to the installation of the camera, saying that it breached its privacy. An argument broke out and they both opened fire at each other. Satnam Singh sustained a llet injury which claimed his life.

Satnam Singh was 40 years old and he was facing trial for offenses of murder, attempt to murder, and Arms Act. 

The police have formed teams to nab Gurtej who is absconding after the incident. The police said that they will nab the accused soon. The body of Satnam Singh was sent for the postmortem.
