A spell of excessive rain has brought the city that never sleeps to a standstill. The excessive waterlogging along the bylanes and road network of Mumbai has become a major problem for citizens. Bumper-to-bumper traffic and delayed trains are the least of the worries, as, according to Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, there has been loss of life and property as well. Speaking to ANI, he said that SDRF and NDRF personnel have been deployed at certain locations to support people in such a jeopardy.
The IMD had predicted the excessive rainfall that has turned into a bane for Mumbai residents. Torrential rains triggered by a cloudburst in Mukhed, in Nanded district, further led to devastating circumstances for citizens
