Mumbai Rain Highlights: The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai Suburban, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts on Thursday, warning of heavy rains. Mumbai has already been dealing with severe waterlogging after nearly three days of nonstop rainfall, with showers continuing on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the weather department has placed Nashik under a red alert and Palghar under an orange alert.

Are Flights And Trains On Time?

The airlines are likely operating on schedule, as no advisories have been issued by IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, or Akasa Air today. However, Airlines have cautioned passengers that flight operations could be impacted by the weather, while several local train services were also hit owing to extensive waterlogging. These airlines often warn of flight disruptions due to heavy rainfall.

According to the Maharashtra Disaster Management Department, at least six people were killed due to heavy rainfall and flooding across different districts of Maharashtra in the past 24 hours. Nanded district has reported 4 people 5 missing. One fatality was reported in Beed, while Mumbai recorded one death

Forces On The Ground

PTI reported that aa total of 18 NDRF teams and six SDRF teams have been deployed in various parts of the state. In Nanded’s Mukhed area, SDRF personnel rescued 293 people.

On Tuesday evening, two overcrowded monorails in Mumbai stalled due to technical issues, leading to the rescue of over 750 passengers. Local authorities identified "overcrowding" as the main cause of the malfunctions.The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has not declared Wednesday a holiday for schools and colleges, unlike Tuesday.
