A 200-meter-long steel bridge for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project will become operational in March 2025. For the full completion of this the target has been set of August 2025. The new ‘Make in India’ steel bridge will be installed near Nadiad, Gujarat, adjacent to National Highway-48, which serves as a vital connection between Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project has achieved a significant milestone by constructing the steel bridge through national production programs.
The structure consists of two 100-meter spans, measuring 14.3 meters in width and 14.6 meters in height. This steel bridge is a crucial component of India’s first bullet train corridor, set to revolutionize high-speed rail travel across the country.
The bridge has been prepared at Salasar workshop in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur. The steel portion is connected using Tension Control High Strength Bolts.
The steel bridges are considered good for crossing over railway lines and highways. According to media reports, total 28 steel bridges will be installed for this bullet train corridor. According to reports, till now 6 steel bridges have already been completed in Gujarat.
The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is responsible for executing the development of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project.
