Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the State Cabinet has approved 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana' on Tuesday. The ministry has initiated preliminary groundwork for the scheme. The welfare scheme, aimed at supporting the wedding ceremonies of daughters from poor rural families, is seen as a strategic move to woo voters.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shared the news on his X handle, stating, "Today, the cabinet has approved the ‘Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Mandap Scheme.’ An approval of 40 billion 26 crore 50 lakh rupees has been granted for the construction of marriage halls in panchayats." Under the scheme, the state government will construct marriage halls in 8000 panchayats. Additionally, the marriage halls will be operated by Jivika Didis.
