A Class 1 student was allegedly beaten by a school principal for not reciting the multiplication table of two in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas district. The police have now registered a case against the principal.
According to PTI, the student is studying in Class 1, and the principal thrashed him with a plastic pipe. Later, the minor’s family lodged a complaint with the police, and a case was registered against the principal, Shashikala Thakur. The incident took place on October 11.
The principal has been booked under the relevant sections of the IPC and the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
A senior police officer said, “After returning home from school in the evening, the child was unusually quiet. When his mother was changing his clothes, she noticed injury marks on both his thighs as well as his face.”

Guntur District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal handed over 250 recovered stolen and lost mobile phones worth Rs 50 lakh to the victims at the District Police Office Conference Hall on Tuesday.
“In many instances, people face serious problems when their mobile phones are lost or stolen, as they may contain personal, banking, and other confidential information that offenders can misuse. Victims have been filing complaints in such cases with the police,” SP Vakul Jindal told reporters.
“Based on these complaints, our police teams are using advanced technical tools to trace and recover the lost mobile phones. We are handing them back to the rightful owners completely free of cost, which has brought great satisfaction and happiness to the victims,” he added.
The police officer said that anyone who loses or has their mobile phone stolen should immediately contact the Police Helpline at 8688831574 or register a complaint on the CEIR website.
