Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: In a bizarre and shocking incident in Gwalior, a man married five women, while technically still being married to his first wife. According to reports, the man, identified as Singh Shekhar, was a software engineer by profession. His family allegedly helped him marry other women, touting him as eligible bachelor, the reports revealed.
The incident came to light after the Techie’s first wife reached the Gwalior Superintendent of Police and filed a complaint. She alleged that no arrests have been made so far. Experiencing betrayal from her husband, she appealed to the authorities to confiscate his passport and other documents, fearing he might leave the country.

Techie’s Involvement With Other Women
Reports stated that the accused Singh Shekhar married his first wife on 13 May 2018. She alleged that he went missing for days under some pretext of work which made her suspicious. She discovered later about her techie husband’s involvement with several women whom he had married with the help of his family.
Gwalior DSP Promises Action
The Gwalior Women’s Crime Branch, led by DSP, promised her that they would take appropriate action against her husband and others involved.
According to reports, she had already filed a case of dowry harassment against him in 2022, which still awaits a verdict in the court. Although the warrants have been issued against him during the last two years, Singh has not been taken into custody yet.
Investigations Underway
This case has raised serious questions of marital fraud and legal imbroglio in India, sparking public debate on the rights of women and the need for immediate justice in such matters. The investigation into Singh’s alleged multiple marriages is currently underway.
