MP Elections 2023: We Will Cross The Figure Of 150 Seats, Claims Rajeev Shukla

This time, I firmly believe that people will vote and give us a big majority, we will cross the figure of 150 seats, said the Rajya Sabha member.

Bhopal: Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Shukla claimed to be crossing the mark of 150 seats in the upcoming assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh. While addressing the press conference in Bhopal, he declared that the change is going to happen this November.

Will win by a bigger majority this time

With full faith in the voters, Mr. Shukla said, “We had won the last assembly elections too but they (BJP) did horse trading to make government. This time, I firmly believe that people will vote and give us a big majority, we will cross the figure of 150 seats and predictions are doing rounds that BJP will be limited to 65 seats. People of Madhya Pradesh will make us win with such a big margin as in Karnataka that this government won’t be able to think of trading candidates.”

We fulfill our promises

Bashing the Shivraj government, the Congress leader said that the state has been seeing this government for 18 years, and it has been monotonous. “Roti bhi ek taraf hi palate raho toh jal jati hai“. Now it needs a change, change for betterment. Answering a question about promises made by Shivraj Singh, he said that the current government has made hundreds of promises that they don’t fulfill. They just keep on promising innocent people whereas we believe in fulfilling our promise. We made two promises in Karnataka before the elections and fulfilled them in the very first meeting after forming the government.

Govt covers its corruption

Speaking on governance, he mentioned the neighbouring state’s CM Bhupesh Baghel and compared prices of cereals and different schemes. “From Vyapam scam to RTO scam, there’s a list of their corruption but they don’t talk about it. When they’re corrupt, it’s not a corruption, they go clean”, added Rajeev Shukla.

Peasants are priority

The senior leader made it very clear that peasants are on the priority list of Congress and that their party will work for them like always if comes to power. He listed that the Manmohan Singh government had waived off farmers’ loans worth 50 lakh crores in the UPA government and their party would continue to work for their welfare.

All well in the INDIA bloc

The Rajya Sabha member affirmed that all is well in the INDIA bloc and there’s nothing to be perturbed. There was a little misunderstanding when Nitish Kumar gave his statement but things are fine and all the parties will come together to contest for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The people of Madhya Pradesh will vote on the 17th of November for the upcoming assembly elections. Counting for 230 seats will take place on December 3.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
