A shocking incident from UP’s Moradabad took the internet by storm. A burqa-clad woman was sexually assaulted in a residential area under Nagphani police station limits. CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media, where netizens reacted to the incident and raised concerns about women’s safety.
The video clip shows a woman walking along a residential space when she is suddenly assaulted from behind and groped. While trying to ward off the assailant, the woman shouted while trying to free herself from his clutches. Upon facing resistance, the assailant fled the scene.
The footage highlights that no one else was present in the vicinity at the time of the assault. The clip has been widely shared on the internet and shared by several users. Since the video went viral, Moradabad police have issued an official response via Twitter.
The police launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter as the accused is still at large. Authorities are scanning CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator, and a manhunt operation is underway to apprehend the assailant.
In a similar incident in UP’s Meerut this May, a man forcibly kissed a burqa-clad woman. The incident went viral on social media. The woman was out for a stroll in a residential area and was suddenly kissed in public. The accused, identified as Suhail, later apologised for his actions.
