Monsoon Session: The Opposition parties Alliance I.N.D.I.A decided to bring no-confidence motion against the BJP-led central government in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said.
Leaders of Opposition parties on Tuesday resorted to protests and sloganeering in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, forcing adjournments of the two Houses just after the beginning of the monsoon session of Parliament.
Chowdhary, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha confirmed media, “Opposition parties will be bringing a no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha against the government tomorrow.”
The leaders of the Congress and like-minded parties on Tuesday organised a meeting and discussed the proposals to move no-confidence motion again the Central Government.
A meeting of opposition leaders was organized in the chamber of the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, ahead the proceedings of Monsoon session of Parliament.
The leaders who attended the meeting were– Raghav Chanda, Pramod Tiwari, Jairam Ramesh, TMC’s Derek O’Biren and others.
Adjournments
Both the houses faced adjournments over the demand of discussion on the Manipur situation.
It is noted that the last time a no-confidence was brought against the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government in 2003.
The opposition strategy to corner the government on Manipur will continue in the Rajya Sabha as well, the sources said.
