Modi surname case: SC extends hearing to Aug 4, Rahul Gandhi’s legal battle to continue

The case that pertains to the Gujarat High Court order which denied to put hold on his conviction in the Modi surname defamation case.

New Delhi: Supreme Court issued a notice to Gujarat High Court in relation to the Modi surname defamation case in connection to an appeal filed by the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The hearing that was earlier scheduled to be roll ot a verdict today, will now be heard on August 4.

The case that pertains to the Gujarat High Court order which denied to put hold on his conviction in the Modi surname defamation case.

Single judge bench of justice BR Gavali who was presiding over the hearing listed the case to be heard again in the first week of August.

The matter was earlier allotted a further date due to the unavailability of Rahul Gandhi’s counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi to appear for the argument on the date of hearing.
