This evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his entire cabinet will take oath. Similarly, all 543 winning MPs across the country must take oath before entering the House. It is mandatory for MPs to take oath to gain access to the Parliament House. If any MP enters the Parliament without taking oath, a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on them, which they must pay.

Furthermore, an MP who hasn’t taken vow sitting in the House cannot participate in the proceedings or exercise their voting rights. It’s worth noting that Article 99 of the Constitution strictly orders the oath-taking of MPs. According to this article, all MPs must take swearing in front of the President or a person designated by them.

Chirag Paswan, Jitin Ram Manjhi, Amit Shah, Manohar Lal Khattar, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Nitin Gadkari, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Piyush Goyal are expected to be included in the upcoming cabinet of Narendra Modi.
