New Delhi: Five security personnel sustained injuries as a crowd of hundreds pelted stones on Meghalaya Chief Minister Tura’s office on Monday evening.

The incident took place amid CM Conrad Sangma holding a meeting with civil bodies at the office.

According to reports, the police had to fire tear gas shells to disburse the mob.

However, Meghalaya CM is unhurt. But, he was unable to get out of the office as protesters had blocked the road.

As per sources, groups based in Garo Hills have been on a hunger strike demanding to set up the winter capital of the state in Tura. 

Later, the police controlled the situation.

The situation worsen on today’s evening after hundreds of people gathered outside CMO and started pelting stones.
