Dehradun Rape Case: A 16-year-old girl from Punjab was allegedly gang-raped on a bus at ISBT Dehradun, just days after the horrific rape and murder of a woman doctor in Kolkata. Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the incident.

ISBT Police Chowki under Kotwali Patel Nagar registered the case after a Child Welfare Committee (CWC) team rescued the teenager from ISBT. Police initially detained and questioned two suspects.

Punjab teen gang-raped on bus

Sources reveal that the girl had boarded a UP Roadways bus from Moradabad and arrived at ISBT Dehradun around 2:30 am on August 13. It is alleged that the nearly empty bus had five individuals who gang-raped her. Following the assault, the perpetrators left her outside the bus. The CWC helpline team found the distraught girl near ISBT.

The teenager, a Punjab resident, informed authorities that her parents had passed away and her sister and brother-in-law had asked her to leave their house on August 11. She then traveled to Delhi, Moradabad, and eventually Dehradun.

The girl mentioned that the bus was red, leading investigators to believe it may belong to Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation. An ongoing investigation is examining CCTV footage from ISBT.
