The rerouting of the IndiGo flight comes days after a Guwahati-to-Dibrugarh flight made an abrupt go-around just before landing at Assam’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport. State Cabinet Minister Bimal Bora was also on board that flight.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati had issued a yellow alert for the Assam capital on August 24, Sunday, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning.
