Meet Shakti Dubey, The UPSC 2024 Topper Who Cracked the Country’s Toughest Exam After 7 Years of Preparation

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the official result for CSE 2024 on its official website- upsc.gov.in. Shakti Dubey emerged as the Topper, followed by Harshita Goyal and Dongre Archit Parag occupying second and third rank respectively.

A total of 1,129 positions will be filled through this recruitment drive, including 180 vacancies for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 55 for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and 147 for the Indian Police Service (IPS). Recognized as one of India’s most challenging competitive exams, the UPSC CSE attracts lakhs of aspirants annually. It opens doors to prestigious roles such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service, Indian Trade Service, and other Group A and B services. The selection process involves three phases: the Preliminary exam, the Mains, and the Personality Test (Interview). The final merit list is compiled based on performance across all stages.

Who Is Shakti Dubey?

UPSC topper Shakti Dubey is from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. As per media reports, she told Chahal Academy during the mock interview that she did her graduation from Allahabad University. After completing her Graduation, she went to Banaras University for post-graduation. There she studied biochemistry. Shakti started preparing for UPSC in 2018.

Shakti’s preparation took seven years, highlighting her determination and commitment to long-term objectives. Her poised and self-assured performance in the Personality Test played a key role in making a lasting impact, ultimately earning her the AIR 1.
