What happened at Goa nightclub on Saturday night?
A fire broke out at Birch by Romeo Lane in Arpora, North Goa, on Saturday. Initial findings suggest it was triggered by a firecracker, though the exact cause is still under investigation. Twenty-six people, including four tourists and staff members, died in the blaze. Investigators believe most of the deaths occurred in the underground kitchen, where people tried to escape the flames.
Preliminary reports indicate that the nightclub’s furniture and interiors were mostly wooden and highly flammable. There was no explosion, but the fire spread rapidly, trapping many inside.
