Many recognize Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra, for his active presence on social media and inspirational “Monday motivation” posts. His popularity rivals that of Mahindra’s Thar. However, few know about his wife, who, despite being a journalist, prefers to stay out of the limelight along with their children.
Twitter users often discuss Anand Mahindra for his bold style of expression, sparking curiosity about his personal life. Anuradha, his wife, is a well-known journalist and the founder of the luxury lifestyle magazine Verve. Additionally, she manages the publication of a magazine called Main’s World.
Anuradha Mahindra, who was raised in Mumbai and graduated from Sophia College for Women there, first crossed paths with Anand Mahindra during their college days when she was just 17 years old. They later reunited in Indore while Anand was pursuing studies in film making and architecture at Harvard University. Anuradha was involved in a student film project there, rekindling their acquaintance.
Anand developed feelings for Anuradha and eventually proposed to her one day, presenting her with his mother’s ring. They married on June 17, 1985, before relocating to the United States.
After finishing her studies in the Communication Program at Boston University, Anuradha pursued a career in journalism. She assumed the role of editor-in-chief at Rolling Stone India and joined the Advisory Board of The India Story as well as the Advisory Council of Artisan, aiming to promote Indian art.
