The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination is India’s most prestigious exam, and lakhs of aspirants attempt it each year to crack the nation’s toughest test and become civil servants such as IAS, IPS, and IFS officers.
Today, we are going to talk about an IAS officer who cracked the UPSC examination with an All India Rank (AIR) of 50 in 2016.
Mocked for weak English
Surabhi comes from a humble background. She hails from a village in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. Surabhi’s father worked as a lawyer, while her mother was a school teacher. Once, she faced humiliation in class due to her weak English. However, Surabhi beat all odds and built a successful career through her grit and hard work.
Scored 100 in Maths, Science
Surabhi has always been very good in her studies. She scored 100 marks in Mathematics and Science, and her name appeared on the state merit list. She cleared the state engineering examination with good marks and secured admission to an engineering college in Bhopal.
Worked with TCS
After completing her engineering, she joined Tata Consultancy Services. Although she was earning well, she later decided to pursue a career in the civil services.
Surabhi cracked the UPSC examination with an impressive rank of 50 in 2016. She cleared eight competitive examinations, including IES, ISRO, and BARC. She had earlier cleared the IES examination in 2013.
