Meet Diganta Das: Left Job As Security Guard To Explore Parathas, Earns Rs. 50 Lakhs Monthly Now

Diganta Das, once a security guard and laborer in Bengaluru, now runs a successful business in Assam, earning over 50 lakh rupees monthly selling packed parathas through 'Daily Fresh Food'.

This is the story of Diganta Das from Assam, who used to work as a security guard and laborer in Bengaluru. With hard work, he started his own business. Today, he earns over 50 lakh rupees per month.

Diganta Das was born in a poor family of Assam. Originally from South Borghuli of Biswanath district in Assam. He was the youngest sibling and scored the highest marks among all. Among three children of Sumila Das and Naren Das, Diganta was the only son. Sumila Das is a housewife, and his father, Naren Das, was a farmer. Diganta Das studied at the Gopalpur Nehru Higher Secondary School and passed matriculation in 2001. He was struggling with life and started working at a very young age to support his family.

Diganta Das shifted to Bengaluru in 2011 in search of employment. For a year he worked as a security guard and a room service attendant at a hotel. In 2012 he joined iD Fresh Food, located in Hoskote, Bengaluru. It started selling idli-dosa batter; now, iD Fresh Food is a major brand in the instant food segment. Today, it sells parathas, chapatis, chutneys, yogurt, bread, and other items.

Career Growth Journey

He started his career at iD Fresh Food by working on a manual task like unloading the goods, sweeping, and dishwashing. Later, when some employees left for a month’s leave, Diganta fitted in, doing the packaging. After three months of training in how to mix the dough, he got promoted to rolling multi-layered parathas. Also, his dedication towards the work resulted in his senior noticing his dedication. During his period at iD Fresh Food, he developed a tremendous interest in making parathas, and he got a brilliant grip of the whole of the making process.

Being in Bengaluru, he thinks that people in Assam would also like the same dish. After returning to Assam in 2017, Diganta established a business known as ‘Daily Fresh Food’ with a partner: packed paratha. Soft and crispy parathas won people’s hearts in Assam, and as a result, Diganta began to make over 50 lakh rupees each month. Now, Diganta wishes to expand his business by introducing more items to it.
