Meerut Horror: A man from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, is accused of having sexually assaulted several children and young adults of a village. According to the police, he had filmed the assaults and then used the footage as blackmail against the victims for money.
An FIR has been registered against a 37-year-old man who ran a grocery store in the village. So far, six victims, including four minors, have come forward.
He would target every other person who came to his store, offering them drinks laced with drugs. He would then sexually abuse them, shoot videos of the abuse, and blackmail them using videos of the abuse to extort money by threatening to release such videos.
One Victim From Meerut Gave His Statement
One of the boys told, “I went to his shop to buy something, and he gave me a cold drink. After drinking, I fainted. Then he showed me a video he had recorded and asked for money. I told my mother only after days.”.
Families Come Up For Their Children
The victim families told their children have been traumatized by abuse. “My son has stopped eating and drinking. He has become very quiet and doesn’t talk to anyone,” said one mother.
Another man related how his son, now working near Delhi, had refused to come home and refused even to speak to them over the phone. “We only came to know what had happened when the police came. My son is very ashamed and says he will never come back to the village. He had asked for ₹ 3,000 a few days ago, and now we realise he was giving the money to that man,” said a victim’s mother.
The families have said they are now afraid to leave their homes out of fear of shaming by the neighbors.
Some of the victims claimed he has been abusing kids for a couple of years now, and the village only got to know after such a video went viral on social media.
