Following the tragic discovery of an 11-year-old girl’s body from a canal in South 24 Parganas district on Saturday, members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) from North Kolkata District staged a massive protest. Expressing their anger, the protesters demanded justice and accountability in the heart-breaking incident.

BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul along with other party leaders and locals also held a protest in Kultali, South 24 Parganas, demanding justice for the minor girl.
Expressing grave concerns over the tragic incident, Agnimitra Paul said, “Those who have seen the body of the minor girl, know there were injuries on her body similar to those of Abhaya’s. In this case, the body should be preserved and a post-mortem must be performed under a Central Government Hospital. I spoke to the girl’s father and he agrees that the body should be preserved. We will demand the death penalty for the accused and CBI inquiry into the case.”

This shocking and horrifying incident emerged as West Bengal and the entire nation still grapple with the recent tragic rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical Hospital. The incident with the minor girl in question happened in South 24 Parganas district. She was allegedly raped and killed while returning home from tuition on Friday. Police recovered her body from a canal on Saturday.
