In a shocking incident reported from a Madhya Pradesh declared village, a man was tied and beaten for several hours by the girl he befriended on Facebook after being caught by the family members of the girl. According to police, the man had travelled 100 km to meet the girl on Saturday.
The man from Rewa travelled to Piprahi village Mauganj, in order to meet the girl, but the girl’s family caught him. According to NDTV’s report, the family members of the girl started to hit the man around 9 pm on Saturday and didn’t stop until 10 am on Sunday.
The violent assault lasted approximately 13 hours and was filmed and published on social media.
According to law enforcement, the girl is a minor and the man befriended her on Facebook. Currently, there is no formal complaint filed with the Hanumana police station, the police officer said.
In a different incident reported from MP in July, a 42-year-old man was killed by a mob in Chhatarpur district, while owning cattle that grazed on a different family’s farm. This takes place at Khair Ratiyan village, under Bamitha police station.
The man was tied to a tree and subsequently bludgeoned to death. Police set up a case against nine people, including three women. Six people were arrested in connection to the killing.
According to police, both the victim’s family and the accused family owned agricultural land adjacent to one another and the dispute was sparked when the animals strayed into the wrong field.
The victim’s family alleges that the deceased man was stripped of his clothes and that he was beaten. Police have also confirmed that the body was found on the ground unclothed.
