Mann Ki Baat: From Naming Babies ‘Sindoor’ To ‘Wed In India,’ PM Modi Hails Operation For Strengthening National Ethos

Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about Tiranga Yatras held across the country and appreciated the respect shown by people to the Indian Armed forces.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in the 122nd episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' on Sunday, May 25, and lauded Operation Sindoor. In his address, he reiterated that the entire nation is united against terrorism with a resolution to eliminate it. He stated that Operation Sindoor has bought a new confidence and enthusiasm to the fight against terrorism across the world.

PM Modi shed light on how Operation Sindoor has influenced people across the country and become part of the national ethos. He mentioned that several families have now made Operation Sindoor a part of their lives. To explain his point, he cited naming of babies as ‘Sindoor’ in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar after the Operation.

“Operation Sindoor has influenced the people of the country so much that many families have made it a part of their lives. In Katihar in Bihar, Kushinagar in UP, and many other cities children born during that period have been named Sindoor,” said PM Modi.

Vocal For Local Takes Center Stage

He also highlighted the campaign 'Vocal for Local’ taking center stage following the developments during Operation Sindoor. He asserted that people have placed their trust in Made in India Weapons, which are now getting support from all over the country in various forms. PM Modi added that families have pledged to buy toys made in India, and couples have resolved to ‘Wed In India,' as a way to show their support for the country.

“Our soldiers destroyed terror bases; it was their indomitable courage, along with the power of weapons, equipment and technology made in India.  After this campaign, a renewed energy is visible in the whole country regarding 'Vocal for Local'. A parent remarked, "We will now buy toys only made in India, for our children. Patriotism will start from childhood." Some families have taken a pledge, "We will spend our next vacation in some beautiful place in the country." Many youngsters have pledged to 'Wed in India'; someone also said, "Now every gift we give will be made by an Indian artisan,” stated PM Modi

PM Modi further talked about Tiranga Yatras held across the country and appreciated the respect shown by people to the Indian Armed forces.

"You must have seen that in many cities, villages and small towns of the country, Tiranga Yatras were organised. Thousands of people came out holding the tricolour, to pay their respects & honour to the country's armed forces. In many cities, large number of youth gathered to become civil defence volunteers. We saw, videos from Chandigarh went viral,’ added PM Modi.
