Indian Players Mourn Former PM Manmohan Singh’s Demise
While many leading political leaders such as PM Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and others extended their last wishes to the late former Indian Prime Minister, the India national cricket team paid their last respects to him as well. The Indian cricketers walked out to the Melbourne Cricket Ground with black armbands on Day 2 of the IND vs AUS 4th Test to pay homage to the former PM Manmohan Singh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences on demise of Former PM Manmohan Singh. He wrote on X, “India mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished leaders, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Rising from humble origins, he rose to become a respected economist. He served in various government positions as well, including as Finance Minister, leaving a strong imprint on our economic policy over the years. His interventions in Parliament were also insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve people’s lives.”

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday. He was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi late in the evening after his health deteriorated, where doctors declared him dead. He was 92 years old and was ill for a long time.
