Mandi: At least three people were dead, and two others were rescued after a landslide hit Mandi’s Nihri area on Tuesday. According to Mandi SP Sakshi Verma, a house collapsed after debris from an adjoining cliff slid onto it. Following the incident, police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and carried out search operations.
The torrential downpour that started in Mandi on Monday worsened today, triggering floods and landslides in several areas. Floodwaters inundated a bus depot in the district, and many vehicles were swept away in Dharampur town. Meanwhile, landslides were also reported in Shimla.

DCP Dharampur Mandi said, “Dharampur town was the worst affected as the Son Khad river suddenly swelled and took a furious form. Around midnight, floodwaters gushed into the bus stand, submerging several state-run buses and sweeping away others along with dozens of private vehicles, including cars, bikes, and scooters.”
About 404 people have lost their lives in monsoon devastation since June 20 in Himachal Pradesh. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) confirmed that 229 deaths took place due to rain-related incidents and 175 in road accidents.
