Haryana: In a tragic incident, Haryana Police arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his live-in partner with a screwdriver following her refusal to have intimate relationship with him. Both the accused and the victim were reportedly married to other people and were having an extramarital affair.

A accused has been identified as Shivam Kumar. The incident occurred in Gurugram, and the accused, was apprehended from the Rajiv Chowk area. The police registered a case against him at the Sadar police station.

According to PTI, the complainant, a 28-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh, stated that Shivam Kumar forced her into a physical relationship on Thursday. When she refused, he allegedly used a screwdriver to assault her on her neck.

In her complaint, the woman mentioned that she lived in a rented room in Gurugram, away from her husband, and that’s where she met Shivam Kumar, who hailed from Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh. She stated that they started living together, and he had physical relations with her under the pretense of marriage. She later discovered that he was already married.

On the day of the incident, he arrived on a bike, pressured her into a physical relationship again, and when she declined, he got angry and attacked her with a screwdriver. After the assault, he fled. The woman’s neighbors took her to the hospital for treatment.

Following her complaint, an FIR was registered, and a police team, led by sub-inspector Sandeep Kumar, arrested the accused. The police are investigating the matter, and Shivam Kumar will be presented in court.

This incident brings to mind similar cases involving screwdriver attacks. In another case two months ago in Telangana, unidentified individuals attacked a 19-year-old girl with a screwdriver, leading to her death. Similarly, last year in Chhattisgarh, a man stabbed a woman 51 times with a screwdriver after she refused to speak to him.
