Man Shot Dead In UP’s Muzaffarnagar After Refusing To Withdraw As Witness In Brother’s Murder Case

The deceased has been identified as Salman, who was a key witness in his brother’s murder case pending with a Meerut court.

A 35-year-old man was shot dead in Muzaffarnagar’s Bijopura village. The man was a witness in his brother’s murder case. The police have identified the main accused as Irfan.

The police have charged four other persons in connection with the murder. The four were identified as Kaliya, Mohammad Ali, Naimuddin, and Fazil. The police said that all five accused are still on large. 

Salman was under pressure to Withdraw as a witness

Salman’s brother Naushad lodged a complaint with the police He said in the complaint that Salman’s accused were putting pressure on him to withdraw as a witness in the murder case of Salman’s brother, Zaid’s murder that took place in Meerut four years ago. 

The accused took Salman to a forest area where he was shot.

NCW condemns murder of Noida woman

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has expressed strong condemnation over the murder of a woman in Noida, reportedly killed by her husband in a fit of rage over suspected infidelity.

An FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been filed, and the Commission has demanded a thorough and fair investigation.Rahatkar has emphasised that the case must be handled expeditiously, with a status report (ATR) to be submitted within the next three days.

Taking to its handle on X, NCW posted, “NCW strongly condemns the brutal murder of a woman in Noida, reportedly killed by her husband with a hammer over suspicion of an affair. Such horrific violence has no justification. Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has directed the Police for an immediate arrest of the accused, Fan IR under BNS, and a time-bound, fair investigation. ATR to be submitted within 3 days.”
