Man Shoots Self To Frame Rival, Lands In Police Custody

A 29-year-old man, his brother and their associate found themselves behind bars for orchestrating a conspiracy to frame their rival.

New Delhi: A bizarre turn of events unfolded in the Kardampuri area of northeast Delhi, as a 29-year-old man, his brother and their associate found themselves behind bars. The trio was arrested for allegedly orchestrating a conspiracy—to frame their rival by inflicting a gunshot wound on one of them. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, took a surprising twist as the victim’s brother rushed him to GTB Hospital for treatment, leading to a sequence of events that ultimately led to their arrest.

The suspects have been identified as Waseem, aged 29, his brother Fahim, aged 32, and their associate Sahil, aged 23. In a significant development, law enforcement authorities have successfully recovered a country-made pistol from the possession of the arrested individuals.

This is what happened?

The intriguing episode began when reports of a firing incident in the Kardampuri area reached the Jyoti Nagar police station in northeast Delhi. The victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound, was promptly transported to GTB Hospital by his brother.

Upon arrival at the hospital, a police team initiated an inquiry into the matter. However, the victim remained tight-lipped, refraining from providing a statement. Consequently, a case was registered under sections 307/34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant provisions of the Arms Act, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey.

The Conspiracy

As the investigation progressed, the police apprehended an individual named Bhura, who, during questioning, disclosed crucial information. Bhura had been recently released from jail and found himself entangled in a complex plot.

Further interrogation unveiled an astonishing revelation: the victim and his brother, Fahim, harboured a vendetta against Bhura and sought to ensnare him in a fabricated case. Together with their friend Sahil, they meticulously plotted their scheme, meticulously selecting a location devoid of CCTV camera surveillance.

In the evening, around 9 pm, the trio executed their plan. Sahil intercepted Bhura, while Fahim handed a country-made pistol to his brother, Waseem. In a bizarre turn of events, Waseem shot himself in the left leg before returning the weapon to Fahim. However, during the ensuing struggle, Bhura managed to break free from Sahil’s grasp and fled the scene.

This is how the arrests were made

In the aftermath of the gunshot, the conspirators swiftly transported the injured Waseem to GTB Hospital. While en route, they placed an emergency PCR call. Notably, law enforcement authorities recovered the country-made pistol, loaded with a single empty cartridge, from Fahim’s possession.

This peculiar incident serves as a reminder that truth can often be stranger than fiction, leaving both law enforcement officials and the public astounded by the audacity of the plot.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
