First period party:  In an attempt to break mensuration taboo, a family from Uttarakhand celebrated their daughter’s first period by throwing a grand party and cutting red velvet cake. Jitendra Bhatt, a dweller of Udham Singh Nagar’s Kashipur city, decked his home balloons to celebrate his daughter’s first period.

Jitendra Bhatt is a music teacher by profession. The reason behind the period party is to give message to society that mensuration is the most sacred transition of life where a girl at her first step to attain her womanhood.

Ragini’s first periods was celebrated with pomp and show in the presence of family and friends. The party photos are getting viral on social media. Everyone is talking openly about this initiative and is appreciating the father’s step.

Menstruation still remains a stigma in many parts of the country, but an Indian father has taken a major step to change that. Jitendra Bhatt, a music teacher from Uttarakhand, celebrated his daughter Ragini’s first periods in the presence of family and friends. Jeetendra Bhatt hosted a grand party in honor of his daughter’s menstruation. From a room decorated with balloons to cake cutting rituals, the party was one celebration everyone was happy to know about. Reason behind the celebration:

Jitendra Bhatt goes on to say, “When I was young, I didn’t know much about it. As I grew up, I saw that women and girls were looked down upon for having periods or even talking about it. During this time, if a woman touches anything, it is considered impure. To clear all these misconceptions, I thought of celebrating my daughter’s first period. This is not a disease of impurity or untouchability, but a day of happiness.’ It turned out to be a happy day not only for the family but also for Ragini herself as she posed with her loved ones at the party.

Scared moment of life

Menstruation is a natural phase in every girls’ life. A girl has to face a so much difficulty in attaining puberty. But this is a fact that a little support from the family and friends can help her to ease this difficult and painful stage of her life. Several locals congratulated the girl and her family on the post, while many praised it.
