A tragic incident unfolded in Mumbai’s Shivaji Nagar area on August 8, when a man named Ahmed Pathan was brutally attacked with a sword by a minor boy. The gruesome attack, captured on video and now circulating on social media, shows Pathan being repeatedly struck as he lay in a pool of blood. Disturbingly, the footage reveals that numerous bystanders witnessed the attack but did not intervene.
Incident Details and Arrests
Pathan was standing on a road in Shivaji Nagar when he was confronted by 3–4 people, including the minor boy. The boy launched a furious attack on Pathan with the sword, even threatening passersby who considered coming to his aid. The assault continued until Pathan was motionless on the ground. Police have registered a case against five individuals in connection with the incident, and so far, four suspects have been arrested, including a woman.
Background and Community Reaction
According to the police, Pathan and the accused were known to each other, having had a heated argument and physical altercation about two weeks prior. Pathan also had several criminal cases registered against him. Despite this background, locals have accused the police of negligence, questioning how such a violent act could occur in broad daylight without immediate intervention.
