Patna: An honour killing case was reported in Bihar’s Nalanda, where a father allegedly killed her 16-year-old daughter, suspecting that she was in love with a local boy, said police, adding that after killing her daughter, the accused father buried her body vertically about three kilometers away from their home.
Since Friday, when the girl went missing and local police came to know about the incident through villagers, they began searching and found her buried body following a tip-off.
The incident took place in Onda village, under the jurisdiction of the Sare police station in the Nalanda district of Bihar. According to police, “the girl, a class 10 student, whose name has been withheld, went missing on Friday after returning from school.”
When villagers of Onda alerted police about her disappearance, Sare police started an investigation and came to know that a body was found close to the river.
The more shocking thing was that the girl was buried vertically when cops reached the spot. “As she was buried vertically, we faced difficulties exhuming her. A crane was also used,” said an official, adding that “according to the villagers, the girl was in a relationship with a local boy, and her family members were opposing it.”
“Villagers alleged that her father was involved in her death, but we are investigating the case from all angles,” police said, adding that a case of murder was registered and further investigations are underway.
