Man Beaten To Death Over Water Pump Dispute In UP’s Kaushambi District

The police sent Saifi’s body for postmortem and detained Ramesh and his aides for interrogation.

A man was beaten to death after two groups were involved in a fierce fight over the installation of a motor in a government hand pump in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district. The dispute over the installation of the motor turned ugly and led to a violent clash. The incident took place under the Sandipan police station limits.

According to police, a man, Ramesh, installed a motor in the government hand pump to which another man, Anil, requested to fetch water from the hand pump. Ramesh objected to it. Another person named Saifi also joined Anil and started backing his demand. 

Meanwhile, Ramesh’s aides joined him and a clash broke out between them. They attacked Saifi with an iron rod and sticks which turned fatal.

The police were alerted about the incident and soon the District Magistrate and SP rushed to the crime scene with heavy police personnel from different police stations. The police sent Saifi’s body for postmortem and detained Ramesh and his aides for interrogation. 

The police have launched a probe into the matter and employed heavy police personnel to maintain law and order in the village.
