In a shocking incident, a man killed his minor fiancée in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, police said. According to PTI, the 22-year-old man strangled the 17-year-old victim to death.
The incident took place in Bivaldhar village in the Jawahar area. Police have arrested the accused.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police said that the accused was in a relationship with the minor girl and both were engaged. The accused used to visit her frequently.
The accused went to the victim’s house on Tuesday when her parents had gone to the farm. They got into a verbal spat, which escalated into a fight. Police said he strangled the victim to death and fled the crime scene.
Locals alerted the police about the incident. The police rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Chhattisgarh: 3 dead, 22 injured as speeding car hits Ganesh procession
In a separate incident, three people were killed and 22 others injured after a speeding car lost control and rammed into a Ganesh idol immersion procession in Jashpur on Tuesday night, police said.
According to the police, the driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody.
“Three people died, 22 were injured after a speeding, uncontrolled car entered a Ganesh idol immersion procession in Jashpur last night. The car driver has been nabbed,” Superintendent of Police (SP), Jashpur, Shashimohan Singh said.
