Mumbai: On Thursday, July 11, immigration officials at Mumbai International Airport detained a passenger named Tushar Pawar, 33, after discovering that he had altered 12 pages of his passport to hide past trips to Bangkok and Thailand. The Sahar police subsequently arrested him.
According to the reports, Pawar admitted to modifying his passport to prevent his wife from finding out about his three previous visits to Thailand in 2023 and 2024.
Pawar, a logistics business owner and graduate, lives with his family in Satara. He is currently in judicial custody and faces charges of cheating under the Indian Passport Act. An officer from the Sahar police station reported that Pawar was on a business trip to Thailand with a client when he was apprehended.

In another recent incident, Sahar police arrested a 43-year-old woman from Chennai for allegedly assaulting a Customs officer at Mumbai Airport during a search. The altercation occurred after a suspicious capsule was discovered in her handbag.
On July 7 at 3:50 am, Dhanlaxmi Shanmugan landed at Mumbai Airport on a flight from Muscat. Customs officers, suspicious of her behavior, questioned her, but Shanmugan, who only spoke Tamil, evaded their questions. When her luggage was scanned, officers found an egg-sized capsule wrapped in black tape in her handbag. She was then taken to the Air Intelligence Unit office for further inquiry.
