Mahindra Group Probes Employee Accused of Sending Rape, Death Threats to BJD MP

Mahindra reacts upon the accusations that one of their employee has threatened BJD MP with rape and Death threats.

Mahindra Group has initiated a probe after Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sulata Deo alleged that an employee of the firm threatened her with rape and death on social media. Following the accusations, Mahindra Group released a statement on Monday reaffirming its commitment to “zero tolerance” towards misconduct, intimidation, or threats.

“We have been made aware of certain undignified and highly inappropriate messages allegedly made by one of our employees towards a political leader on Facebook. The Mahindra Group has always enshrined the importance of human dignity since its very foundation and believes in upholding an environment of respect, with no tolerance for any breaches of these principles,” the statement said.

It further added that Mahindra has taken the matter with utmost seriousness and has initiated an immediate investigation. If the allegations are validated, strict action will be taken in accordance with the company’s code of conduct and values.

The BJD MP has posted snapshots of the rape and death threats allegedly written by the Mahindra Group employee. The employee has been identified as Satyabrata Nayak, who has also been alleged to be a BJP worker.

Meanwhile, opposition party members have come out in support of Ms. Deo. TMC MP Sagarika Ghosh called the incident “utterly shocking and unacceptable.”

Priyanka Cahturvedi said This is extremely shameful, and I condemn this threat as a fellow colleague of Smt Sulata Deo.
