Maharashtra Political Crisis: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut alleged on Friday that NCP chief and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leader Sharad Pawar has been threatened by a Union minister.

"He is Maharashtra's son. They are threatening him. Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, are you listening? Your minister is threatening Sharad Pawar. Do you support such threats? Maharashtra wants to know," Sanjay Raut said.

Sanjay Raut had earlier taken to the social media platform Twitter to make the explosive claim.

"A Union Minister threatened that if Sharad Pawar tries to save the Maha Vikas Aghadi, he will not be allowed to go home, he will be stopped on the road. Whether the government stays or goes, such language for Sharad Pawar is unacceptable," the Shiv Sena MP tweeted.

veteran Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde's revolt against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance has triggered a political crisis in Maharashtra. Eknath Shinde, who has managed to wean away the majority of Shiv Sena MLAs, is on the verge of deposing Uddhav Thackeray as Maharashtra's chief minister.

The Shiv Sena had 55 MLAs in Maharashtra prior to the current political crisis. However, only 13 Shiv Sena MLAs attended Uddhav Thackeray's party meeting on Thursday. Eknath Shinde has the backing of the remaining 42 Shiv Sena MLAs, 37 of whom are in Guwahati.
