In a tragic incident, Renu Katre (44), wife of a Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority Sub-registrar, was found hanging in her home in Kandivali East. While initial reports point to suicide, Renu Katre's family suspects foul play in her death.
Renu had accused her husband of harassment. Her brother claimed she took her life following a dispute on Saturday night, but insisted it was a case of murder.

In another incident, a family of four died by suicide in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district. Police said the family members consumed sulfas tablets to end their lives. According to PTI, the victims were identified as Manohar Lodhi (45), his son Ankit (16), daughter Shivani (18), and grandmother Phulrani Lodhi (70). The incident took place at Tehar village in the district. The motive behind the extreme step is under investigation.
