New Delhi: The National Commission of Women (NCW) Friday took cognisance of an incident where a man thrashed a woman over sticking out a bamboo for poster without the latter’s consent.
“NCW India has taken cognizance. Chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to DGP Maharashtra to immediately arrest the accused involved in the matter. NCW has also sought a fair and time-bound investigation. Action taken must be apprised to NCW within 5 days,” tweeted the official Twitter handle of the NCW.

Meanwhile, the man belonged to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The incident took place on August 28 in Maharashtra’s Kamathipura. The woman alleged that the MNS worker was adjusting a bamboo rod for installing a poster in front of a medical shop.
The lady who was the shop owner objected to the act. Anguished by her denial, the man started assaulting the woman.

The woman on August 30 moved to the Nagpada Police Station to file a complaint against the man. The police filed a non-cognizable offence.
A video came fore that shows the entire incident highlight the MNS leader’s action who slapped the woman and pushed her.
Meanwhile, the video went viral on the social media attracting severe criticism.
